Business schools from around the world set sail for the 2014 Rolex MBA Regatta

21 BOAT CREWS FROM SCHOOLS INCLUDING HARVARD, MIT, INSEAD, CEIBS, IESE AND LONDON BUSINESS SCHOOL WILL GATHER ON SEPTEMBER 26-28 IN SANTA MARGHERITA, ITALY, FOR THE REGATTA ORGANIZED BY SDA BOCCONI WITH YACHT CLUB ITALIANO AND ROLEX

From the 26th to the 28th of September MBA students from the world’s leading business schools - including Harvard, MIT, HEC, IESE, Ceibs and London Business School – will gather in Santa Margherita, on the Mediterranean coast, to compete in the 2014 Rolex MBA’s Conference & Regatta, an event organized by the Sailing Club of SDA Bocconi school of management and Yacht Club Italiano in partnership with Rolex.

Around 400 MBA students and alumni will participate in this 13th edition of the regatta - for three days of sailing, networking, debate and social events. Apart from the sailing, for the students it also represents a chance to network and to experience how to manage and work within a team - while for the MBA students of the SDA Bocconi Sailing Club it is the result of months of hands-on experience in organizing such an event.

On the Saturday participants will follow the conference on the topic ‘Fast & Curious: Innovating for Value’ which will see the participation of Wing Commander Andy Green, RAF pilot and World land speed record holder, and Ian Livingstone, co-founder of Games Workshop, co-creator of Fighting Fantasy and Chairman of Playdemic. The sailing race will then conclude on the morning of the Sunday with a Match Race (regatta in which the boats will compete head to head).

The participating schools are:

CEIBS (China), Chicago Booth (USA), Columbia (USA), Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (Switzerland), Fuqua School - Duke University (USA), Goethe Business School (Germany), Harvard (USA), HEC (France), HKUST (Hong Kong), IE (Spain), IESE (Spain), IMD (Switzerland), INSEAD (France/Singapore), London Business School (UK), Manchester Business School (UK), MIT (USA), Rotterdam School of Management (Holland), Sauder (Canada), Tuck (USA), Wharton (USA), SDA Bocconi (Italy).
