Solidarity Between Generations is Now a Feasible Choice

DIEGO AND VERONIQUE, 'BOCCONIANS TO THE CORE', EXPLAIN WHY THEY HAVE SUPPORTED THE UNA SCELTA POSSIBILE PROJECT

A contribution of €36,000: the objective, to support a student as part of the “Una Scelta Possibile” project. Two “Bocconians to the core,” as they define themselves, are donating this amount. They are husband and wife Diego De Giorgi and Veronique Morghen, who graduated with degrees in Business Economics in 1992 and 1993, and who met at Bocconi and together participated in CEMS. Today they live in London, where Diego is co-head of corporate and investment banking EMEA at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and where they are actively involved in organizing the BAA Global Conference set for March 2015.

“When Diego found out about the “Una Scelta Possibile” project, we were excited about the opportunity and decided to support our Alma Mater,” says Veronique. “Without Bocconi, we would never have expanded our horizons. We like the idea of supporting the university that was a launching pad for us.” In London, moreover, Diego and Veronique live immersed in a philanthropic culture accustomed to supporting education. “In the Anglo-Saxon context, it’s a widespread practice,” says the couple, who say they also sponsor scholarships at their children’s school each year. And, about “Una Scelta Possibile” they add: “It’s important to study in an environment where backgrounds are diverse, including socially. Bocconi has always supported merit, and thanks to this project it will give even more chances to students demonstrating the commitment and ability to change their future.”
