Luxury, sports or finance, a new international summer school in Milan to help students familiarise with leading edge sectors

UNIVERSITA' BOCCONI IS LAUNCHING A NEW SUMMER SCHOOL FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD WHICH WILL FOCUS ON THE TOPICS OF EUROPEAN ECONOMICS, SPORTS MANAGEMENT, LUXURY MANAGEMENT AND EQUITY AND VENTURE CAPITAL FINANCING. 120 STUDENTS WILL BE SELECTED TO SPEND THREE WEEKS OF JULY IN MILAN, THE CITY WHICH WILL BE HOSTING EXPO 2015

Economics of European Union, Sports Management, Luxury Management and Equity & Venture Capital Financing are the courses to be offered during the first edition of the Bocconi Summer School, scheduled to take place from July 6-24 in Milan (the city which will then be hosting EXPO 2015) and involving 120 undergraduate students from all around the world who are interested in becoming more familiar with these four important sectors from today's world of business and finance.

For three weeks, on the Università Bocconi campus in the center of Milan, students will have the opportunity to attend classes conducted in English and held in new multimedia classrooms. In addition to the actual lessons, students will take part in group projects (so as to encourage interaction and socialization), will be involved in real business activities and will participate in company visits.

"The Bocconi Summer School offers college students from around the world the opportunity to take courses which focus on their specific areas of interest in the summer period,” states Stefano Caselli, Bocconi's Vice Rector for International Affairs, “as well as to participate in a social and cultural experience, exchanging ideas with students from different countries and different scholastic programs.”

In this video, Olga Annushkina, the Summer School's Academic Director, introduces the program:

One day will be dedicated to visiting the EXPO's pavilions and to learning about the main topics of the event.

“We have chosen for the summer school to take place in conjunction with EXPO,” continues Caselli, “because the situation is of mutual added value: for the students, to have the opportunity to visit the most important international event of the year, and for the city, to welcome talented young men and women who will be introduced to Milan's artistic, cultural, entrepreneurial and academic excellence.”

Applications will be accepted until May 3rd and at the end of the program students will have earned 6 college credits for participation.
