Changed by Women Event on 8 March at Bocconi

CHANGED BY WOMEN IS UNDERWAY, THE PROJECT THAT TELLS THE EXTRAORDINARY STORIES OF 99 WOMEN WHO HAVE PURSUED THEIR DREAMS AND CHANGED THE FUTURE. THE INITIATIVE ENTAILS A BOOK, FUNDRAISER, WOMEN'S MENTORING PROGRAM AND ROADSHOW INVOLVING THE BOCCONI ALUMNI COMMUNITY. THE PROJECT AIMS TO BET ON THE FUTURE AND INSPIRE THE NEXT GENERATION OF GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN

A total of 99 extraordinary stories of women who have been able to overcome their limits and the stereotypes imposed by society; 99 stories of Bocconi alumnae who became role models; 99 stories of women of different ages, walks of life, aspirations and goals who bet on the future and changed it. They are the stars of Changed by Women, Bocconi’s project that celebrates International Women's Day every day by looking toward the future of the next generation of girls and young women.

Changed by Women is not only a book, but also a fundraiser to support new female students, a women’s mentoring program, and a roadshow with stops at all the Bocconi alumni community headquarters around the world. It all kicks off on 8 March in Milan (8:30pm, Via Roentgen Aula Magna) with an event that merges words and music, adrenaline and reflections, smiles and emotion – featuring an incredible appearance by Donna Javotte Manca di Villahermosa, president of Bocconi University from 1932 to 1957 (the complete program of the event can be found here).

"When we talk about leadership, role models play a very important role," writes Director of Bocconi's AXA Research Lab on Gender Equality and Dean for Diversity, Inclusion and Sustainability, Paola Profeta. Her words can be found in the afterword of the volume available on 8 March that will contribute to the Women's Fund in support of scholarships. "Women in the top ranks of companies, politics, institutions and universities represent not only a possibility, but an outcome – a stimulus for women of all ages; a change for the culture of families, companies and institutions; a defiance of and victory against gender stereotypes in every context."

For this reason, the 99 stories told by Diana Cavalcoli and gathered in Changed by Women are but a few among many possible tales and among many that are yet to be written – because every one could be the possible inspiration for the next.
